Yes, you can clearly do that. The beauty of just glancing at the phone while it's just sitting there is what is nice. I can still do that, and see the time from across two rooms. Until it dims out.

Well, wife is still getting major drain with Google Play Services are on. LIke just a few hours and it's toast. When it's off, of course there are no updates. This is even after the system update to 8.0. There's a bug somewhere.

I just saw that elsewhere and turned my own down on the T2. You're right, she loves it bright. I'll 'try' to splain that to her...haha.

It's my wife's. Here Turbo1 was singing death songs, battery was not holding half a day....she has the XL, and it'll hold for a day. She probably uses hers more than I used my T2, but she's charging at the end of the day. Definitely not enough to make it one more day like I could with my T2...

For those of us used to the Turbo2, battery life on Pixel seems disappointing. The keep screwing with the software, tho', so here's hoping they tweak it to max performance soon.

Hey all, thanks so much for all the help. Glad I'm not the only one, but it does sound like moving to the Pixel will be a good experience. I don't mind the double tap to wake the screen, I use an app that does that on my tablet, so she'll get to like that, I think. Haven't played with Zoom FX...

My wife's ready to swap her Droid Turbo (1) for the Pixel 2 XL...our first move away from a Moto phone in decades. I really like the quick wristflip to kick the camera on, and waving my hand over it while it's laying on a desk or counter to see time and/or notifications. Are there apps or ways...

Looking at another Moto device for wife's nearly dead Turbo (1)....because I think they still have the best radios. And I love the twist and cam is on, etc. Tho' I've read some troubling reports about inability of some of them to connect to wifi. Is there anything to that?

Waiting....mine used to read texts very nicely, and a couple updates back, just stopped. Now, all I get is a ding and a message that it can't....which isn't real helpful. I've checked all the settings as suggested.....

I have the opposite problem: the darned thing just popped onto my home screen! I've had it off for years since we voice activated phones now. Moto Droid Turbo 2.....and without any updates that I see, it just popped on. And I can't remove it. Usual widgets you hold and delete. Not this time. Any...
