From what I have read, yes on some no on others. I think it may have something to do with the not only the GB version but also the build. Not sure though, (not a programmer).

Sorry, buddy, [-] Hellions with BLUE flames ! means that the exploit has been patched, you're SOL until a new exploit gets found :(

Does this work on the US version?

Yes, it does, as of now, the M100 update MIGHT (emphasis on probably :p ) patch this exploit, making root unobtainable (for now)

From what I have read, yes on some no on others. I think it may have something to do with the not only the GB version but also the build. Not sure though, (not a programmer).

You are correct sir, it is supposed to work from android 2.2 - 2.3.5. Unfortunately the patch was released in november, and now it's on carriers to apply the patch to their individual phones

I'm confused. If I run the batch file all I got to
do is run it with my droid plugged in.

Yupp, and USB Debugging enabled.

brand new and looking for cool info.

Well, currently, either this, or SuperOneClick (shortfuse.org) is the easiest way to root your phone. After that, be careful, currently there is no way to backup/restore to stock.

Sorry for the late reply (once again)

Hello paxchristos Im new to androids and rooting but ive ben doing some reading. Now that I got my desktop back I want to try it.

I downloaded the batch file here and as fare as I know I just need to run it. I did click on it just to see what it would do and It said the files should be estracted. should I do this?

Also is there anything I should do before runing this like back up files? I know I need a new sd card to ise right?

thanks ray

When something is compressed (.zip) you always want to extract it, unless you know exactly what you're looking for. (Extract the entire thing)

You don't need to worry about backing up files, and SD cards are not an issue with this root.

This is the truth. The "Reset to Factory Default" is no such thing. All it does is delete what you have added. if you have rooted and uninstalled bloatware, it does not reinstall those. It also does not remove root access nor restore the build file to stock.

I did it this morning after backing things up because the OTA update failed. It did not fix the issue. On the bright side, after I had unistalled T9 trace and the "factory reset" deleted my keyboards, I had no input method to log into my google account. Hurray email to text so I could copy and paste. Though I'm glad because I'm not sure M100 is rootable atm.

Either way I'm not sure I care about PTT capability, I'd rather you know, call someone, on my phone since I'm not using it for construction work.

Lost my root. I hate verizon sometimes... Why cant we just buy a phone, and decide for ourselves what is on it? You buy a computer, and you have complete control over what apps, even what OS is on it!!!

Next time you gain root. Use TB or similar app to freeze inno active care. That way you can wait til an update is released and exploited before you update.

If you're on M100, its currently unrootable.

Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk

My question is straightforward: Are there Android phones that no one ever figures out how to root? (After the company starts selling then with an update?)

I can pay a ridiculous $30 fee to Verizon to trade this for another model as I am still in my 14 day trial. Or I can wait for someone to root m110. Waiting 3 months doesn't bother me. Waiting for eternity does. There is certain iptables functionality I cannot do until root is applied.

Please advise.

What is Hellions with BLUE flames? It keeps causing the rooting process to end. Please god help me. This is my second day messing with this. Can a Casio Commando even be rooted?

Y'all are sounding like idiots. If you would read the comments from over 5 months ago that this POS phone is UNROOTABLE you would have an answer to your questions...

Not completely true. I had my commando rooted last year before traiding it in. I used SuperOne Click and it worked just fine. One issue I did have was that my anti virus on my computer kept causing issues because it thought it was a virus. Once I turned it off and removed my SD card I was good to go.

Let me re-phrase: as of build M110 this POS phone is unrootable. All existing exploits do not work on M110 or M120 (newest build).
