We really needed one of these. I'll keep it short.

Games working direct from Android market:
Angry Birds (all flavors; make sure publisher says Rovio)
EVAC HD (did not buy but free version seemed fine)
Galaxia (but it's crap)
GRaveDefense HD
Steambirds
TigerGBA Emulator (single screen mode only)
Unique Rabbit (looks nice but too simple)

Games working via third party:
Pocket Legends (pocketlegends.com, runs great in tablet mode)

Games not working..?
Battleheart (would probably work if you could get .apk via browser)
Pacific Navy Fighter (controls broken)
Winds of Steel (really bad tilt control makes dogfights impossible)

It just won't download. Same with Commando Bob. Some titles just refuse to download from the marketplace. There's a couple more Echo owners that have reported the same in Battleheart's review box.

Mini Squadron (single screen only)
Contract Killer (bad lag in tablet mode, their game engine is a POS)

Tempted by Spectral Souls, but fifteen bucks (and a 1GB download) is a risky purchase without knowing how well it will run. Anyone know more about this game?

Re: Spectral Souls, not so sure. I got it. Downloads fine (my wifi so can't guarantee), supports both (full) screen quite well, has actually nice almost pinch to zoom like features. So the interface stuff seems ok except there are some funny console like buttons now and again. All in all for hardware support it is good.

Game wise is another story. It is certainly hard core. I really have not gotten into many battles yet but for a tactical RPG the menu - APs - turns setups are really involved. It could be a good game for the right audience and I am not disappointed in getting it. I am just sort of looking at it from a safe distance right now until I figure it out more.

Hope that helps, I guess my best advise is "depends"

BTW - Peggle will work. It throws errors and generally is picky but it will play on a few restarts ;-)

So it's tactical in kind've a puzzle game sense? Like Advance Wars? Or is it flexible enough to develop real strategies.

It is tactical in the Final Fantacy Tactics etc. sense. I have not played enough yet but it is possible it could be a scene-to-scene-to-scene kind of story where there is no player movement per-se or world map etc. but rather talk-battle-story-talk-battle etc. Like i said - don't know. But the battle engine does seem very detailed (complicated?) and possibly flexible. Likewise I have no idea if there are equipping of items to weapons, special attacks, etc., but I would not be surprised.

But I will say it runs well and I like the zoom-rotation screen options, at least I can see everything.
