My mother wants to try to take her new Stratosphere II from Verizon to Cricket. I know that most CDMA phones will not work, at least in terms of cellular and data service, on a GSM network. GSMArena lists the phone as having both a CDMA and GSM antenna. Hence the question, will this phone work on a GSM network?

Since it's an older phone, you'd probably have to ask Verizon to carrier-unlock it first. Even if did, though, it looks like it'd only work on 2G at best. According to the specs, the phone uses the 2100 MHz band for HSDPA (3G), while Cricket only uses the 850 and 1900 MHz bands for 3G. There also is no LTE support either, since the phone supports only Band 13 (700 MHz), while Cricket uses Bands 2, 4, 17, and 30.
