Can I charge moto E 2015 with any 1.5A to 2.1A charger? What max input current does it take?

The charger provided with this phone is very slow. It takes up to 3.30 hr to charge. It's output is 5V, 550mA.

Re: fast charger

Welcome to Android Central! A 550 mA charger will charge pretty slowly. A 2.1 A charger should be significantly faster, and is safe. From what I've read, the 2015 Moto E doesn't support Quick Charge 2.0.

Re: fast charger

Thanks B. Diddy

But as I have heard the phone automatically limit the input current and takes what max it can take. So basically what max current input it does support? Can I charge it with 1A or 1.5A?

Re: fast charger

Phones will draw as much current as they need, so you won't be in danger of "overcharging" the phone with a charger whose max amperage exceeds what the phone will usually draw.

As a general rule of thumb, the maximum charging current for a phone's battery is equal to its mAh. So a 2000 mAh battery can draw a maximum of 2.0 A.
