I've been trying for a couple weeks to get my contacts into my moto e in usable form.

I've been trying for a couple weeks to get my contacts into my moto e in usable form. I have the contacts from my old flip phone saved to a .csv file, uploaded to gmail, and synced on my moto e. All contacts show up in "people" but none in the phone directory (all contacts is greyed out). For example, "Amtrak" shows up under "A" but only displays as" NOTES Work Number 1: 18008727245" There is no phone icon and nothing usable from which to place a call. I've been all over the web looking for answers and have done live chats with Motorola, TracFone, etc... help, please!!!

Look at the csv file. Now export a csv file from Google Contacts. Compare them in a text editor (like Notepad).

If there's a header (the first line has column titles), it should be the same in both.

If there's no header, the order of the items - name, address, work phone, cellphone, etc., etc., has to be the same, with blanks for items not in that line (commas with nothing between them).

A csv file is just a text file - it's the order in which things appear that matters.
