No Data on Unlocked E4+

Hi all. My dad purchased an unlocked E4+ for my mom and it won't receive data or send picture texts. He brought it to a T-Mobile store and they said we cant add a data plan to it on T-Mo. However it is unlocked and should work? If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated, thanks!!

In theory, yes. The phone's specs show that it supports T-Mobile's network, so just inserting an active SIM should work. HOWEVER, if the phone doesn't automatically get the proper APN configuration, it wouldn't receive data or MMS. You can usually get those via text from T-Mobile or if a rep in a store does it for you, but it's hit or miss if the rep you get wants to do it for an unlocked, non-t-mobile-purchased phone. A Google search should also help, though, if you want to try it yourself.
