Moto G to USB DAC

If a USB DAC is plugged into the micro USB socket on the Moto G will the phone recognise it and send the audio bitream to it?

My USB DAC is the other side of Europe, so I can't just try it!

The short answer: no, the MOTO G does not natively support USB audio bitstream. However, because it has USB OTG API, you can purchase an app such as USB Audio Player Pro, and then it appears to work with an older nuforce which does not claim Android compatibility. It is a little finicky, but it is playing songs. Obviously it should work better with brand new USB DAC devices that have been designed for Android, such as nuforce Icon.
