Hiya folks,

I have been following the recent news about Google's new "Carboard" project which is a cheap way to to use your mobile phone as a 3D virtual viewer similar to the Oculus Rift which is still undergoing development.

I've ordered a cardboard kit to use with my Moto G and know the phone does not support "NFC" Near field Communication which activates the menu in the device using magnets.

Does anyone know if an OTG cable or wireless connection to an OTG cable will work with the Moto G? I only need to get the mouse to work to navigate through the screen from the phone which is placed within the "Cardboard" project.

Have you tried it using a mouse connected to your Moto G?

Cheers,

Mack

The only use for NFC that I saw was to launch the app when touching the Cardboard (instead of manually launching). No need for USB OTG.

I suggest trying it out, if you haven't already. Orient the Moto G horizontally first so the accelerometer has a good initial position, otherwise tilting won't work correctly (no gyroscope). Press once or twice on the screen to advance.
