Moto G 4G Bought in the US

Hi,

I bought the new Moto G while on holiday in America a couple of weeks ago. Phone works fine except for the network speed only showing H+. I know this is a fairly known problem for a variety of reasons, but so far I have:

-Set preferred network to LTE
-Confirmed APN settings are correct
-Got a new sim card from EE
-Checked the new sim card on other devices (it works)
-Rebooted and checked software is up to do date

I then contacted Motorola who thinks it's down to us using different mobile bands than in the US and Europe

So what I was wondering... any other ideas what to try? Or is there a way to reset the phone and install a different (UK) version of android that will work in the correct 4G band.

What LTE bands does your carrier in the UK use?

"EE uses 1800 band, and the Moto G 4G LTE bought in the US is using 4G LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 17 (1900, 1700, 850, 700 MHz)

A phone that is bought in Europe is optimised for other networks, so they are using 4G LTE Bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 (2100, 1800, 2600, 900, 800 MHz), and could therefore work on networks like EE. "

If the bands don't line up, then there really isn't anything more to try.

Yup. The usa moto g 4GLTE won't get 4glte outside the usa for the most part.
It might be possible to flash a radio from another region, but keep in mind that doing so can permanently brick your phone.
