Cyanogenmod 12 and Moto G (2nd Gen)

I was just taking a look at CM 12 and was curious if there are benefits I would get by installing it on my Moto G (2nd Gen)? I'm currently on vanilla Lollipop 5.0.2

Are you having performance problems now? My moto g is running great with the Motorola software, and I wouldn't want to load a custom ROM onto it.

Hmm. My battery life isn't spectacular either, but I wouldn't attribute it to the software. Probably the fact that is has a smaller battery. Unless your issue is out of the ordinary
