does anyone know how the Moto G's Snapdragon 410 and Adreno 306 hold up aginst the Nexus 4's S4 and Adreno 320?

I don't need a powerhouse phone but close in capability of the Nexus 4

It should hold up pretty well. Wait for Ron Amadeo's review on Ars Technica, he has some good benchmark graphs in his articles.

I would say you won't notice any difference in CPU performance but without a doubt Adreno 306 is quite a bit less powerful than Adreno 320.
Also make sure to get the 2gb ram model because from my personal experience with Moto E, 1gb ram is just not enough when opening up lots of apps simultaneously.

Yeah, the only thing you'd be missing out on is graphics performance, and maybe wireless charging. Everything else about the 2015 G is leaps and bounds ahead of the N4.

I'm also considering the new Moto G as a replacement for my Nexus 4. I'd love to see a video comparison of the two.
