I'm on the check out page on moto website, I currently use T-Mobile and was wondering if the phones comes ready to use? Will I have issues with the T-Mobile network and lte? Is it unlocked as if I'm buying a nexus?

All the help would be appreciated!

Yes, if you are buying the LTE version it will get LTE on TMO and it is unlocked just like buying a Nexus.
    Good luck.

Aren't they all LTE models? I'm getting the 16GB/2 Ram model directly from moto website.

The one in my cart at check out is GSM unlocked..is that going to catch LTE signal? Doesn't seem like I have many options on the moto website.

No, LTE is LTE, which is for data transmission. GSM, while actually also a digital network, is very different.

The unlocked GSM version will connect to LTE just fine. The phone has both networks. LTE is in addition to GSM, not in place of it.

Android since v1.0. Linux since 2001.

So let me get this right. I'm on Verizon and use a LG G4 as my daily driver but I want a moto g as a second phone. I can order the moto g off Motorola's site and it will work on Verizon network. I want to pop out the sim from my LG G4 put it in the moto g and rock on with no problems. Can this be done. I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter. thanks again

It won't have CDMA nor VoLTE for Verizon so it's a non-starter.

OK so what would be a compatible phone that would allow me to do what I want. I was aiming for a close to pure Android experience

The new 2015 Moto X Pure Edition would be very nice. And it *will* work on Verizon.

There will likely be a variant of the third gen Moto G for Sprint but it's not yet available.

I'm not sure if you heard the news, but apparently the GSM moto g does not have band 12 lte. This directly and pretty seriously impacts T-Mobile coverage, since this frequency band provides much better coverage indoors and in crowded spaces. Motorola just pulled this compatibility from their site a few days ago. Here is their spec list now :

    Moto G - GSM (XT1540)
    LTE (2, 4, 5, 7, 17)
    UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 1700/AWS, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

This may or may not affect you depending where you are in the country, and can check their coverage at this linkhttp://www.spectrumgateway.com/_/rsrc/1439318929670/t-mobile-700a-spectrum/TMOvsChan51.jpg. Keep in mind that even if you aren't in this coverage area that T-Mobile is expected to massively increase the area of this coverage over the next year.

I ended up buying the moto x 2014 that currently is working just fine with tmo. came to about $330 with tax. I was already at $250 with the g, thought I'd spend the extra money and buy the x.
