I have new moto g for which I set up a Consumer Cellular phone account. That phone service has been working fine. Although I have memorized the phone number for that account, it occurred to me that somewhere within the moto g I ought to be able to actually read my phone number. However after looking through Setting information and App...Show System...Phone and anything else where it might be, I could not locate any phone number?. Note although I had to use the Consumer Cellular app to set up my account, the app icon displays no longer include a Consumer Cellular icon that might be opened. I found that odd but then for this old computer person despite much praise one might relate about Android and smartphone engineering, there are some things that seem odd. In this case would expect it should be in an information field in the blue icon Phone function under the 3 dot menu...Settings.

But nothing there? Of course I could set my phone up as a Contact but don't expect I really need to do that. I'd strongly bet phone numbers for phone service providers are ALWAYS somewhere on smartphones and I simply haven't yet stumble on where?

Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> SIM Status and it should be towards the bottom labeled "My phone number"

Pretty sure that's where it's been for several Android versions.

    Indeed there it is thankyou.

I actually looked in Settings...About Phone...Status but at the time that the phone number would be in SIM Status apparently didn't register with my thoughts. Probably because I was looking for something with "phone". Though now as someone working in electronic hardware for decades I immediately understand why it is appropriate to put the phone number in there because that is where one's phone service information interfaces to the moto g phone system functions. On the other hand, a smartphone's phone number is a most important piece of information that would be better served also by being directly readable when one is making a phone call without having to jump through a number of touch selections.
