Why aren't my Widgets appearing on my home screen?

Widget Locations

I just upgraded a new phone to android 5.0.2. I have downloaded several widgets and when I try to add them to my home screen, they aren't appearing. Am I missing something?

Are you getting a flash of message telling you that there's not enough space on that screen?

No. The widgets just don't ever appear in my available choices.

Do you have a widget tab when you open the drawer?

You could try a different way. Press and hold on a blank spot of your homescreen and select widgets.

Thanks. I've tried the second way - can't find a widget drawer. When I select widgets, I get a long list of available ones, but not any of the ones I've downloaded.

Just a thought. Which widgets have you downloaded? Some widgets can be used just with an specific app (for example Zooper Widgets). Tell me the name of some of them and I can check a couple of things.

I've tried several, but the ones I've been trying to get to work are either the Weather Channel (the app works fine) or the Rings Digital Circles.

This is what I found about Rings widget. From the reviews it seems that is got many problems, specially after lollipop.

I can't even find the widgets drawer! When I tap the applications icon, it takes me to the available apps, but no widgets.
Where do I find them?
