Is your bootloader unlocked? If not, it is almost impossible to erase the system firmware...HELP. I think all I need is to find the os online and then I'll be fine but I can't find any.

Can elaborate a little more on what you think you did, which model, android version, etc?
For the 1GB RAM model, sure... it should work fine. Make sure you read and understand the flashing instructions and follow them to the letter, including the factory reset... deviating from them can cause "less than desirable" operation (read... bricking).
