    Quick user review.

I purchased the Moto G5 (64GB/4GB) from Best Buy on launch day and so far I'm very impressed. My comparison is against the 2015 Moto X pure Edition. So far I am most impressed by the G5 battery life. Under heavy use I'm getting well over one day of usage. The feeling that I need to carry a charger around with me is gone with this phone. Streaming music and YouTube videos along with Facebook messenger and multiple phone calls throughout the day I haven't had one hiccup yet.

I like the One Touch navigation feature and I have been using it since I unboxed the device. There is a learning curve to it but once you get the hang of it it's a Nifty trick and it adds to the uniqueness. Nougat runs well and split screen works very well.

The biggest negatives in my opinion are the single firing speaker and the absence of the "wave to wake" feature my Moto X has. Dropping from a 5.7 inch higher end display to this G5's 5.2 took a little time to adjust too but ultimately found it not to be an issue. The camera on the G5 is hit and miss. I've taken some impressive photos in the daylight but once the sun sets it's a whole other story. I think the Moto X could edge the G5 out but only slightly.

Some things I haven't tested are HD video recording, the headphone input, or streaming Bluetooth audio to a car. The lack of NFC doesn't bother me.

Overall I'd recommend the phone as a replacement for the Moto X. I'm keeping the Moto X as a backup for now.

It's been good for me with constant use and it has turbo charging shocked how fast it will fully charge ,does get a bit warm charging nothing to be concerned about , right now I don't fell the need for a car charger , however my iPhone 7+ still wins in the battery department

Thanks for your review. I'm considering a G5 Plus to replace my 5X. It seems like a great phone for the money.

Find it interesting it doesn't have the wave to wake up feature, since the G5 has a proximity sensor.

When you wave the flashlight comes on ,when you shake the camera comes on.

Not necessarily the twist action launches camera, and the chop action launched flashlight. Hard to believe you missed the fact that he is referring to which is waving your hand over the screen as one of the moto actions.

Well the battery on mine went bad over night after 12 days wouldn't hold a charge, so I took it back, my only complaint about the phone is the display color was a bit on the cool blue side and not adjustable but overall great phone, however because of the battery I decided to switch to the Huawei mate 9

I'm pleasantly surprised at the g5 plus. I picked one up as a spare phone while waiting for my s8. It has been great so far. Battery life is excellent as good as the z play I had. Built excellent. Great little device. Especially for the price.

I agree it's a great device for the money. I love the 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built in storage. Lack of storage was about the only thing that I wasn't happy with on my Nexus 5X. One bad thing about the G5 is Motorola's miserable security patch history. But I knew that going in.
