Bought the G5 Plus 64GB for my son. Most of the calls we make to him get static and are hard to hear. Any advice?

Yeah disable Enhanced Calling. The G5 is still having issues with that. There is supposed to be an update to address it but given Moto's proclivity for foot dragging I won't even hazard a guess as to when.

Just to be clear -- your son's phone has Advanced Calling off, or your phone?

Also, can you let us know the exact phone model? There are a few variants, and if it's the XT1684 or XT1685, neither of those support CDMA (which is what Verizon uses for phone calls, if Advanced Calling is turned off).

Sorry, I'm still not entirely clear on this -- can you confirm that both your phone and your son's phone have Advanced Calling turned off?

Who's hearing the static -- you, him, or both?
We both are broken up to each other. He claims it happens with other people to. I really do not want to buy a new phone especially a new one. I had looked at last year's Moto Z Play but doesn't work on CDMA.
At a loss on how to fix the communication issues.
