I have only recently heard of "carrier aggregation", but when I got my Moto X Pure Edition 2015, I already had a smartphone using Verizon. All I had to do was pop in the old SIM and set it up. No issues.
I thought I knew the answer to your question, but went to verify before replying.
After going to the Google, I thought you were asking about the un-plus G5.
Phone Arena shows the G5 Plus to have all of the same, exact bands as the Moto X Pure Edition 2015, however Phone Arena also shows that the regular G5 is missing many bands, as compared to the Pure.

Now, I'm confused.
GSM Arena seems to show the same differences...

I've been researching swapping to the G5 Plus, a lot, but haven't run across this contradiction, with the bands on the un-plus G5, before.
Motorola lists the G5 Plus to be compatible with Verizon.

I could not find the un-plus G5 on Motorola's site. Weird....
