Recent Moto models include a new Moto Action that enable gestures on the fingerprint sensor. It's quite easy to turn this feature on and it will hide the standard navigation bar.

Moto app - Actions - One button nav.

Once you enable this feature these are all the gestures/actions that you get.

    Quick touch - Home.
    Longer touch - Lock screen.
Touch and hold - Google app/assistant.
Swipe to the left - Back.
Swipe to the right - Recent apps.

The option to switch between the two most recent apps is still there, now you just need to swipe twice to the right.

I've been using this feature from day one, took me no time to get used to and never disabled it. For me it makes a big difference in real-world usage and you get a bigger screen without the on-screen nav keys.

What do you think? Have you used it?

Very helpful. Best feature existed for a real smartphone. Lenovo should buy BlackBerry.

I turned it on when I first got my phone and set it up. I'm not a button person, I like gestures and this feature makes life easier for me. Glad it's there.

The Pixel 2 (I don't know about the original Pixel) allows pulling notifications down by "pulling down" on he sensor, and I have that enabled. Quite often my hand is holding the phone so that my finger is near the sensor (it's on the back), so it's easier to pull the notifications down that way. There are no other fingerprint gestures on the Pixel 2. Back and home would be nice, though.
