A few articles on Brazilian blogs and a couple of members posting the screenshots on the Google+ community I follow. It seems it's the initial wave for just a few devices, people talk about 1%. Nothing for me yet.

Seeing reports of the rollout to G5 Plus also in India and Brazil. But nothing for me nor anyone I know.

Yes, I read the same reports but I haven't seen anyone showing the update yet. It seems it'll be 8.0 for the G5 line instead of 8.1.

Got to test it on the third worlders first.

Motorola phones are very popular in both Brazil and India. Though now the popularity in India is decreasing because of poor handling of updates. Many are switching to Nokia and Mi Android One phones right now.
India and Brazil have a huge number of Moto users and hence are good regions to get a number of soak testers.

Yes I read that article but found it rather vague especially because it is known that they are soak testing with 8.1
Let's hope they give us 8.1 as in the soak test.

I will! Hectic week with atypical phone use. So far everything is fluid and fast and there are a couple of cool new options in Moto Actions. I'll find time this weekend to tell you the new things, but I'm really liking the update.

The update did roll out to India. Got it on the morning of 24th.
