I received the same update yesterday. Moto/Lenovo have been disappointingly slow in issuing updates!

That's good !
I suppose it will soon roll out to other regions.
But there seems to be no sign of Oreo update for the G5/ G5S and their Plus phones in the near future.

Soak test running for the 5S models (8.1). All rumours (leaks) say that the are not important bugs, better performance, system running very fluid and without a negative impact on battery life. It shouldn't be long before we all get it.

A few articles on Brazilian blogs and a couple of members posting the screenshots on the Google+ community I follow. It seems it's the initial wave for just a few devices, people talk about 1%. Nothing for me yet.

Not sure if I like that expression.

I think the main reason to release the update here first is that Brazil, and India, are their biggest markets. Moto devices are incredibly popular in these countries and not so much in the US. Market priorities and not 'guinea pig thingy', I guess.
