I am very surprised nobody has come out with a wireless charger mod without the additional battery.

I'm pretty sure there are cases for other phones out there which provide wireless charging. I don't think the pins are necessary for this to be a possibility?

I believe you need more than just a case. I have had phones where you could order a new back with wireless charging but that would not work on a sealed phone.

I just received a blue incipio back plate. I like the texture of it, it almost feels like a felt type texture.

One thing I wasn't expecting, it's thicker and heavier than the moto mod style shell I got with my phone. It actually makes the phone feel like a normal phone in weight instead of really light. Instead of being flush with the camera, there is a slight indent. I have mixed feelings on the heaviness on the shell. On one hand sometimes the phone feels too light, but other times when I'm holding the phone for long periods of time, I really appreciate the lightness of the phone

The pins would help the case not suck. Other cases have to wrap around & have a plug that goes into the normal charging port, then also have a charging port to charge the case and phone together. It adds a lot of bulk, and often doesn't really work seamlessly. With the Moto Z pin setup, a wireless charging back could be made not much (if any) bigger than the included style shell.

While I applaud Lenovo on the whole Moto Mods concept, I feel like they need to keep releasing style mods to appeal to everyone's tastes. Seeing those 6 original colors sold out on their site certainly isn't helping sales. What's the point of getting a phone that accepts mods if they're not available?

I agree, they should be releasing more mods as well while this phone is fresh and hot on the market to keep the momentum going.

I mentioned this in the Moto Z Play forum, but I hope they release a car dock or nightstand/alarm clock charging dock that uses the Moto Mod magnets.
This would avoid needing to plug in a USB cord to charge and allow special apps to launch.

Unless the software strategy changes, I don't think we'll be seeing a Car Dock UI on any of the Moto Zs.
