It's not the same chipset as the one x or s3, it's closer to the nexus 4s snapdragon pro, look at the gpu. Essentially it's a nexus 4 missing 2 cores, so I doubt anyone will notice, hardware is waaaaaay past software.

I think the specs are outdated because it wasn't the focus of the phone. I mean you already have the one and galaxy s4, what good would another snapdragon 600 clone really do for the industry? It's apparent the focus was on features, not benchmark scores

Really disappointed with these specs... I hoped they would come out with something better... This might as well have been launched earlier this year... I wouldn't trade my HTC One for this...

Hmm that's interesting that the att model is called ghost. Really though, those are still very competitive specs, compared to the quad cores. I've used both the s4 and one side by side with my s3 (which has pretty identical hardware), and I notice no difference in how they run.

Does anybody know if that rumoured processor actually has an adreno 320, if so this phone would be awesome. Also, is it possible that this could just be a dual core version of the s600?

I was hoping for a quad core processor. There is no reason not to include one any more. The cost difference between the two was under 3 dollars.

I'm guessing the decision to go with a dual-core processor was made for the battery savings and not the cost savings.

Have to agree. ZTE just landed a device that will probably blow it away from a hardware perspective and that's just not acceptable. ZTE Geek announced again, this time with Tegra 4 and 1080p display | Android Central

As far as software goes, I did notice that I'm pretty sure this is the first time Moto has made a departure from releasing phones with an Android version well behind what's current. At least they appear to be improving in that category. I used to hate that about them.

Definitely worrying considering the X device and a ZTE device are direct competitors.

ZTE a competitor in what markets? Zte strength of sales is no contract products and lower end devices (smartphones/basic) in the United States. MotoX is going to be on all the major carriers and ZTE brand recognition is low. First time they ever got any major press was when the United States government rated them as a potential security risk.

Yep, and now HTC is releasing or has released the Butterfly S, stepping the CPU up to 1.9 GHz, 5" 1080 screen, and an SD card slot. I wonder if they're trying to follow Samsung. I hope they become leaders, and not followers.

I'm pretty sick and tired of Google putting out phones that are a day old and a buck short. The complete lack of internal storage to me is the worst short comings you can add to a modern day Smart Phone. They constantly leave out internal storage because they are trying to ram their Cloud Storage down your throat. I will NEVER buy a new phone without at least 32gb of int storage with ext sd-card support. Without sd-card support the phone must have 64gb internal storage. Apple puts out their phones with the choice of internal storage, to me that is the only way to sell a phone. Never thought I would hear myself say that but it is true, Google is ramming their cloud storage down your throat, problem with that is if no signal no access to your storage, you are screwed. Google just doesn't get it so I ain't going to buy it. I use to be a Nexus nut, wouldn't buy any phone other than a Nexus phone. Those days are gone, There are certain features I want, I don't so much care if I have to pay a little extra but as I said, no adequate storage I will not buy it. Just My Opinion.
PS The new Moto X with it's 12mb of int storage after the OS you will fill that up so fast. After downloading a few of todays new games that take up 3mb of storage each you are left with about 5mb. Throw a few apps and your phone will be so bogged down and will be slow as mallasses. What a damn joke.

If you don't game or keep movies on your device its a little easier. But when a nandroid takes a gig it can still be pretty easy to get full. I could easily manage with 16 GB internal, but I would never turn down an SD slot. Also choice > no choice as far as storage size goes.

I had been holding out on upgrading my droid razr (original) to the moto X, but after reading the specs and seeing a s3 in person, I am thinking of just going with the S4. I am paying full retail for the phone, so I am not wanting to be wishing I would have got something else. I have upgrades available but I am still on the plan with unlimited data thru verizion and I am not about to give that up, so Ihave to pay full price to keep my plan.

Why not have the processing power? I'd take an i7 over an i3 or i5 any day with computers. Personal preference. Nothing quite runs like an i7 pushing 3.4ghz
