All the reasons I opted against the g2. I wanted a dope phone without having to root it.

Ditto and I am loving it. The nexus 5 is going to be a monster. The moto x is perfect in size. Although if the nexus 5 was smaller I would be all over it.

Since, obviously, you like Android, please just try a replacement phone. Get them now before they make them reconditioned by calling AT&T warranty. In my opinion, I think the G2 and Z1 are better, but since you like the phone besides the battery, try a replacement.

Do a factory reset. Only load a few apps. Try it then.

I went to AT&T, they said they can not service it, since it was a custom job. I called Moto, they said that AT&T reports battery usage and bugs from our phones to MOto, and they looked up my phone, and said that my battery showed good. They told me to do a factory reset and wait a few days.

They also said I had Vevo and Flickr installed, I don't have either of those. The level 2 specialist was clearly an iPhone guy who had no clue how Android worked, he didn't know what screen on time was.

Luckily, they AT&T store is closed. I did the factory restore, but there is not way to return it tonight. It's going back tomorrow.

Got my Verizon Moto X tonight, been setting it up and messing with it while watching football. 99% on Wifi as a result and as the 2nd picture shows, almost all of my standby time is actually screen on time, since I've been downloading apps, setting things up, and overall messing with the new phone. 2 hours 50 minutes at 50% battery lol, I'll take that any day. I'll try LTE in the city on Sunday and report back.

I called back, and got an actual android guy. He had me download an app, and took control of my phone. It drained 5% downloading 5 apps. As it turns out, my battery is actually bad. They are setting up an RMA to send it back. Bad thing about non removable battery, if it is bad, it needs to go back.

Since it was made with Moto Maker, it needs to be sent to Moto. No phone for me for a week.

If you are having low screen times, you might actually look in the screen settings to see how much time you are spending in various levels of brightness. If you are frequently using the phone in bright environments you would get much lower screen times. If that's the case you might take a look at the app lux. The auto brightness frequently makes my screen brighter than it needs to be. Lux let's you customize the brightness levels to your taste and it has always saved me a fair bit of battery on my phones.

That sucks that you'll have to go a whole week without a phone, but hopefully the replacement will live up to your expectations.

I believe Moto has a loaner program. Thought I read it on their site somewhere! Be sure to ask them about it slave.

Typical Motorola service. Send it in, wait 1-2 weeks or more. I waited 3 weeks and 3 days for my Motorola Atrix 4G and they refused to loan a phone, or do anything else.
If they don't give you a loaner phone (decent loaner phone) I would honestly recommend returning the phone, and buying a plain black or white model. At least that way you can let AT&T service it, much much faster.

Hopefully their plant in Houston can process your phone faster.

Lastly when I used the Moto X for a day before it was launched I got about 4 1/2 hours of on screen time use before I needed to charge it, when I put my S4 to the same tasks when I set it up, it took approximately about 3 hours to need a charge.
That's with downloading, streaming, installation applications, emails, and browser. Some of the games are 4GB, All Wifi on 50/50 FIOS connection.
Overall I noticed about a 1 hour to 2 hour difference with the Moto X and the S4 in battery life on the Moto X's favor. Both phones ran the same set up really in terms of features on/off.

One peculiar thing however, when gaming however, the Moto X drained the battery faster than the S4 which was weird and unexpected. I am not sure if the larger 2600 mah battery helped a bit there.

The LG G2 is the one I am waiting for. Have had LG Phones and find that they are great phones. It is no more bloated than the Samsungs , HTC , or most really. Only a rare few have little bloat.

LTE versus WiFi uses a high amount of power. Even on Standby it spends time in the background pinging your feeds. If you have any widgets, gmail, email, facebook, etc, those feeds are pinged as push notifications. Try turning off your data on Network when it's not in use which should increase your battery time. I generally turn on Airplane Mode and enable WiFi to lower the amount of power used. Given that I'm mostly in a No Service location, I opt to use Airplane Mode which lowers how much Moto X searches for service until I leave the region that has no service.

One other thing. Tap the active tasks button (two square icon) and see how many applications you are running. If you close the tasks active, that frees up memory and bandwidth.

Still, Android OS battery drain looks like a software issue. It's not clear if you ever restarted it. Have you? If so, did the Android OS consumption change?
A lot of people restart android phones/tablets to fix the system drain issue. The OS itself has some flaws in this respect... And bad apps do their part.

You posted this two days ago, sounded like lashing out to me. "Post it, it's that easy. If you don't post it, it flat out did not happen. It's not even hard to post, and is super easy to prove. I am calling you a liar until you actually post the screen shot.

We don't need fanbois exaggerating facts. Let the phone sell it self. There is no way this thing gets 6-8 hours of screen time with this battery.

It is a very nice phone, and I really enjoy it, my favorite phone so far, I just refuse to even entertain bull****. 6-8 hours, put up those screen shots, or stop lying."
In short, I believe the phrase is: Pics or it didn't happen

I got 2-2.5 hours of heavy use out of my battery. Im talking about 4g youtube stream and browsing and instagram usage. Only way to get 5-6 hour battery life is if your constantly on wifi or use your screen time texting or taking and looking at pics or taking notes or something of that nature which doesnt use network data and a lot of cou power. Theres no way a 2,200 mah battery would give you 6 hours of screen time with data usage.

Took my moto x back after 4 days and picked up a sexy looking black htc one. Couldnt be happier especially if youre a video guy like me. Those speakers with that screen make it a mini surround sound experience. I watched the movie Snitch which is almost a 2 hour movie and it took only 29% of battery with my brightness on half.

I returned it. No way I can go with no phone for a week. Good thing is my Sprint number was still active. back to the E4GT for me. I will give it a shot again I think.

The Iphone guy who was an "Android Specialist" left a real bad taste in my mouth. The fact that he had me reset my device and lose all of that data for the second guy is unfortunate. The fact that I would have to wait until AFTER my 14 day return period to see if it's fixed was too big a risk.

I think I will let the sting go away, and let the Epic **** me off, and just get a stock black 32GB from AT&T directly.
