Has anyone actually used one of these yet? Like to hear comments on how well it performs the desired task, build quality of the device and how much impact this has on phone's battery. Thanks in advance!

I read about then in a thread in the Droid Maxx forum. They said, when left connected all day, Bluetooth would use 3-4% battery. They said the preformed very well as a trusted bluetooth device. I saw varying reports about battery life of the actual Cobra Tage its self though. Some people had to charge it every 2-3 days, others were getting 4-7 days between charges.

Here is the link to the Trusted Bluetooth device thread in the Droid Maxx forum where they discuss this device at length: http://forums.androidcentral.com/mot...devices-6.html

The fine print on their shipping says two to three weeks for delivery and they do send a tracking number.

Just to put in my two cents as I have been using one for a few weeks now, I am very happy with performance. Battery drain on the phone is no worse than without (I always left bluetooth on anyway) and I charge the Cobra tag every several days. I do not need the alarm so I to turned all alarms off in the app, so no noises!

So, I am playing around with an old Jabra BT2010 earpiece that I have in my desk drawer. I paired it to the Moto X with audio for the device disabled on the Moto X end and set it has a trusted device. It is handling the locked/not locked situation fine. Seems to stay paired with phone audio disable. I just have to test for phone call issues now. Thought if it works I will just carry the Jabra in my pocket as a test for a while. Will post more later. If this works I will just cut off the speaker part of the Jabra.

Well on Edit: I loose the pairing when I disable the audio!!! Drats!!! Sometimes it works other times in looses the pairing!!!! Not reliable!!

Anyone try one of the other bluetooth tags available?

Most seem to be for Iphones! Come on android catch up!!!

I keep read and search on this. It appears that sometime next year there will be products available!

Some say BT 4.0 required, which the Moto X has now!

I would like something that has a battery that would last 3-6 months. CR2032?

    Info to read!

why not go with NFC tags/keychains? No battery required. You can get 10 or 12 for about $10 on ebay

No bluetooth. The whole point of this is to have a trusted bluetooth device so your lockscreen is bypassed when you have your phone.

Those involve waking the phone and then touching the phone with a tag.

The skip has a built in magnet so you don't have to wake the phone.

However a Bluetooth solution just requires the phone to be in range and be unlocked.

I agree on BT, it is going to be cool when better tags become available. A number of companies are taking orders to create the capital to manufacturer them. I walk out of the house from time to time without my phone. It would be nice to have the tag beep at me!

I really want a Chipolo but they do not support the Moto X yet. I emailed them and they said that they are planning on adding support in an update in January. If they actually do, I'll probably get one. I'd really like to try a Gecko too, but I don't want to pre-order, I'll wait until they are shipping.
