:(. It'll be fine one day, then the next says my password is incorrect. I heard i'll need to manually set it up, but i'm not sure how. It's been doing that since I got my phone, so that's since 4.2, 4.4, many resets, etc.

Will that then allow all my email into an all in one email app? I want an app that collects all my email accounts. I have 3 email accounts. 2 gmails and 1 yahoo. With my BB and my Palm i had an email app and they all came through in one place and i could receive all emails and send them all from there. I'm looking for that.

This is what I also did for my AT&T, Yahoo e-mail account and it works perfectly.

My Sony Xperia M2 doesn'T have pop but imap. What are these and what do they do actually? I can't access my email even though I've re entered the password. There's also a grey'd out ? mark to the right of the IMAP server which has always been imap.mail.yahoo.com

but it's saying it usually looks like this imap.yahoo.yourdomainname.com

what is the domainname ? my Username ? email address ?

Why is this so difficult ? There is TMI on the internet and these links aren'T 'helping'

Welcome to Android Central! On most email apps, if you add your Yahoo email account, it will default to the POP3 server settings. If you want to add it using the IMAP server settings (which I think is better than POP3), then you need to input the account information manually. Use the information here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4075.html. For any fields that aren't mentioned in that link, just leave them blank.

Also, make sure to turn off Yahoo's recently introduced "security" measure, which prevents most phone email apps from accessing the Yahoo account: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html. You might get annoying warnings from Yahoo that you're vulnerable, but this is no different from any other email account you add to the Email app. (I believe they did this as a response to revelations of their big security breach in 2014.)
