The settings in my phone tell me I have 488MB of space available, but whenever I try to download an update or a new app (even as small as 4MB), it tells me I have "insufficient storage available". Is there a way to fix this?

You can clear the cache partition, there's a guide for doing that in the guides section. What I do is just go through all my installed apps (Settings, Apps) and uninstall ones I never use and clear the cache and data on some others.

Welcome to Android Central!

Open system settings > applications. Then sort by size and clear the cache for the apps using the larger amounts of storage. This is only a temporary solution since the problem seems to be an issue with the amount of free space, which may be related to the number or size of apps you have installed.
