removing blank screens in Nova

Just got my Moto X last week - my first ever smart phone and boy, is it a great tool for my business. But it does tend to get one in there to tinker. I see that I have several home screens: the one with the icons to launch my programs and then one or two blank ones. Every once in a while when I turn on the phone one of the blank screens is the one to appear. I have Nova launcher but cannot figure out how to work with the settings to remove unused home screens.
