just got a Moto X, much to my regret, I used to be able to text to an email address, it would have it as a contact and auto complete for me, now I have to type the address in every time, any ideas? thanks!

1) Texts go to phone numbers, so you were probably emailing to email addresses, not texting them.

2) How what happens depends on the app you use to do it. Are you doing this in a texting app, an email app or your contacts app?

3) Are you still on the same carrier? (That could make a difference also.)

1. no I was definitely texting to email addresses, don't ask why lol, it's a way I keep track of certain things, not worth explaining

2. regular android messaging app

3. still with Verizon, not a different carrier

I know you're not crazy. IPhones have the capability to text to email addresses. I haven't seen that in Android, but I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the messaging apps, as I just use Hangouts.
