Anyone else missing Smart Lock? It is supposed to be nestled snug between Owner info and Encryption under Settings>Security but mine has apparently vanished.

I don't have it either. I never really paid attention to that as mine is on my corporate email server and I figured the Exchange admin had blocked those types of features.

After using this, I can see why it took so long. It's amazing, smooth with zero hiccup. It makes me wonder why it may not ever run 6.0.

Good point, although it did work before the 5.1 update. I'll check with the IT guys.

And I have tried with the pattern, PIN and password unlock options. It doesn't appear at any time.

In security select trusted agents and then there should be an option to turn smart lock on. Turn it on and it will appear in the security menu.

Is this right or did something go wrong ?

Edit: I just noticed my Google play services app is version 7.8.99 thats not the latest and greatest is it ? how do i up date ? uninstall reinstall ?

thanks

I have the same system version, 222.26.7.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US

My Google Play Services is also on 7.8.99

So far:

I love the UI. Great enhancements, Better look and feel.
Battery life is awful. Like really really bad. Terrible even.
Phone is always hot. Probably related to why the battery life is so bad.

I am at a C- so far on this update.

Ok, today the battery isn't looking so good. Only up for a couple of hours, and I'm down to 75% already.

Dug around with adb and it looks like Play Services are keeping the phone awake 100% of the time:

Code:
$ while true ; do adb shell dumpsys power | grep -i wake_lock; sleep 1; done

Looks like it was a stuck sync process. I rebooted the phone, and it all seems normal now.

I believe you've always been able to do that, it tells you to say OK Google but it didn't correct your speech input. At least mine didn't. :)
supposedly you could, but everytime I tried, it wouldn't let me and said i needed to say OK, Google Now, but I did shorten it to OK, Google.

Thank you for posting how big it is. I almost started the update now while i'm at work but i'll wait till I get home and on wifi.

I haven't verified this, but I was told that Android OS updates downloaded over the network do not count against your monthly data cap. Can anyone verify this?

That's the way it always was in the past. Though I am still grandfathered into unlimited.

Thanks for following up. I'm paying most attention to your remarks because our setups are most similar. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I want to.... :)

If and when I get the notification to download and install this update, should I put the phone on the charger or just set it down and let it do it's "thing"?
I most likely will have at least 90% battery and on wifi.
