When I first got 5.1 OTA update my battery life was horrible. I thought I was going to replace this thing with the 2015 PE or the Droid Turbo 2. However, after a few weeks now the battery life seems to have stabilized. In standby I am getting about the same battery drain as I did on KK. The battery, being the phone is nearly 2 years old now, doesn't last as long with usage but that is true of every smartphone I've owned as the battery hits the 1 1/2 year to 2 year mark.

    Anyone else seeing similar results?

Yep, same here. Battery life was horrible immediately after the upgrade, but now things seem to be about as good, possibly slightly better, than they were just prior to the upgrade.

I'm not noticing much of a difference. I felt like the battery was draining more before the upgrade so maybe it's just the phone. I'm waiting to see the Turbo 2 and Maxx to and between them and the LG G4 one of those will be my next phone.

I replaced my battery since my phone is 2 years old now. They are only about $8 on Amazon for a new battery with the NFC tag. Made my phone just like it was brand new again. Lasts me all day long no problem now just like it used to. If you want to keep your original Moto X, I would highly suggest replacing the battery now as they may not be available much longer being that this phone has been out for over 2 years now. My battery life was also erratic after the update to lollipop, but after a few days it stabilized and is great now especially with a new battery.

Too soon to really tell, as it's been less than a week (and I have barely used my phone this week), but standby seems to be slightly improved

Not, sure, possibly. I notice bluetooth eats the battery ususally so I leave it off when not needed. However the voice features seem different.

Maybe this was available before, but when you use voice to send a text, when it ask if you want to send you can say "repeat" so it will read the text back to you before sending. It will ask to send after you hear the repeat. I guess there might be a command to change you message, would have to test.

Not really, my battery has been complete trash lately. Not sure if it's because of the update or my phone itself. I feel like if I use my phone I am just watching the battery drain out of it. Currently at 53% battery with only a half an hour of screen use time.

I'll post some screenshots in a bit, but I think it may because of the building I've been at lately doesn't get the greatest of cell service. GSam says 69% of my battery usage has been from the Phone Radio (09:45:54). Screen data says 38% battery discharge with the screen off. I also run with location and bluetooth on most of the day, but I'm not seeing anything about that being anywhere close to an amount that I would suspect it of being a reason for battery drain.

Is this the phone's radio just churning away trying to connect to the best cell tower in the area? I've been trying to take note of the phone doing this when I'm at different work sites, but it doesn't seem any better when I'm in a place with steady/good cell service.

I just Factory Reset my Moto on Saturday and have notice that I am only getting roughtly 4 hours of battery life and I am barely using my device at all. How long did it take for your battery to stabilize? I'm wondering if I should perform another Factory Reset or just wait it out.

As reported here earlier on another thread, my wife and I installed the upgrade to our stock 2013 Moto X devices Lollipop about three weeks ago. After the first week or so, I observed a definite improvement in my battery life (although I wouldn't characterize it as substantial). So far, we've encountered no problems since installing the Lollipop upgrade, and are still enjoying excellent performance from our phones. I'm sorry that everyone else hasn't been as fortunate.

I guess what I'm experiencing is the mobile radio active bug that people have had. Not sure if I've always had it but it seems like it's been showing up on the 1st gen Moto X with 5.1. Found a thread or two over on the google support forums including someone with a 1st gen saying they're having the same issues.

those are my usage stats from yesterday, with bluetooth and location services off. i barely used the phone, and that's where i was at. seems like i've got the bug.

Purely my opinion, but I think it's form all those times where signal strength was in the yellow.

You most likely have an app or two going nuts. I've always used an app called SystemPanel to help me determine which apps are batty.

Here are some screen shots again. Phone got way down throughout the day. Got it up to 40%. Used it a bit, and drained it right down to 1%. Here's the album. Seems weird that the system is at the top of the battery usage. If it was an app that was causing the problem, shouldn't it be showing up in the list here somewhere?
