Does clearing the apps in the Recent List save the battery from degrading?

Uses Of Recent Key

Hi,
I'm newbie to forum & don't know whether it is the appropriate place to post a question or not. I'm using Moto X play running android 5.1.1. I'm bit conscious to battery consumption. I know usage of battery depends on several factors but I'm focusing on one factor like my many friends generally hit recent key to clear recently opened apps assuming it is the culprit & using battery intensively. So, my question is that clearing app from recent list will in real save the battery from degrading?

Not sure, but it makes me feel better (as a neat-freak), and makes me feel like the battery is better.

Welcome to Android Central! I don't believe that will do anything. Clearing an app from the Recent Apps list doesn't necessarily close it out of RAM (although sometimes it does--it depends on the app). If an app isn't in the foreground, and it isn't performing an ongoing background service (like music playing in the background), it should essentially be paused and not using energy anyway--unless it's malfunctioning, or poorly coded.
