Just to compare, this is a photo from my 13 X. Yes it's a case of using a best example rather than an average shot, but the Moto cameras are capable.

Just FYI. Latest update definitely made MASSIVE improvements to the camera quality as I had hoped. NOW I feel confident in taking (and sharing) pictures from this superb device! w00t w00t w00t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally! Consistent picture quality worthy of sharing! Outdoor pics are regular (non-HDR) and indoor shots are HDR (the bib was reduced in size for sharing purposes only).

Are you referring to camera version 4.0.7.5 (released Nov 20)? Or is this a lollipop enhancement you've noticed?

I'm on 4.0.7.5 , low light still grainy and noisy

Ask and ye shall receive, along with a bonus of the box cutter. Also, a great example of the clarity for the standard pet pictures the updated camera software can now capture.

I always figured a lot of the problems with Moto cameras was the s/w (or lack of investment in good post processing s/w). These are very very good and show that the h/w is well capable of producing great photos.

It's much improved with Lollipop. Seems very speedy on both counts.
