Why aren't callers able to hear me when they call?

Motorola Connect Phone Calls Not Working Correctly

I am using Motorola Connect and the Google Chrome app to successfully send and receive messages (and I love the feature). However, when I get an incoming call on my Moto X 2014, it pops up on my phone and also a Chrome notification, when I answer via the phone, the caller cannot hear me, and I have to hang up. Can I turn off the phone call answering, but keep the messaging? It looks like it's all or nothing.

I used to use the Moto-Connect app but it has since quit working for me as it has for many. I would suggest trying out Google Hangouts and its Desktop Chrome plugin works alot better with more functional features.
