So, I've been doing some testing, and since I started using Google Messenger for texting (over Textra), I haven't been able to receive GIFs in GIF format, but instead they are static images (or Google's new "stickers" that are also animated - even those stickers from others come in as images.
I can send people GIFs and stickers and they show as animated on my phone. If I send myself a GIF it seems to show the GIF. But from android and iphone users, receiving gifs means getting a static image.
So I went back to Textra today to test some things out. By changing the MMS limit to 2 MB, I received all gifs in full working order.
Wondering what the deal is. I know Verizon puts a limit on size, so I thought that was it, but it kinda seems Textra lets me override that?
