I've had my Moto X since November 2014, and I've loved it profusely for the most part. Alas, as this phone ages, others become more and more attractive.

Personally, I'm looking to maybe buy the Galaxy S7. The promise of a top notch camera, a fingerprint reader, and excellent battery life is hard to resist.

Is anyone considering replacing their aging Moto X for the LG G5, the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, or anything else?

Had my Moto X since November 2014 too, which the way things are these days makes it ancient. It is still perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned and I could easily stick with it for a while yet.

Having said that, if an interesting new phone came along then I could be tempted. The G5 I find intriguing with its modules/peripherals. The ones that have been announced at launch don't really interest me though, but if the idea takes off and LG and third parties produce further peripherals then the possibilities are endless. Was hoping for 64gb rather than 32gb that it comes with, but there's an SD card slot, so it's not the end of the world. Then there's the completely modular Project Ara that's in the pipeline this year, and of course the new Moto X. I think I may hold onto my Moto X 2014 for a little while longer for now and see how things pan out

Not right away, no. While I have my issues with my Moto X (the camera's low light performance makes Baby Jesus cry, battery life could be better), I still love it and find it the best Android phone I've ever used. As for the big two from MWC so far...

    1. The Galaxy S7 is the first Samsung phone I'd seriously consider buying myself based on looks. However, its pricing is archaic ($700 for the base S7), you *still* have to deal with TouchWiz, and a moose in molasses could beat Samsung when it comes to OS updates.

    2. I like that LG is really trying to do something new with the G5. The modules are intriguing. However, given that you have to power down the phone to swap them, how many are people actually going to buy? They seem very situational at best and a gimmick at worst. Outside of the modules, it seems to be a competent yet typical Android flagship.

I always like seeing what new phones are coming out, as it gives a glimpse of where the market is going. I also like that manufacturers are starting to scale back on the screen size wars (not everyone wants a phablet, thank you very much). Most likely I'll wait until the new Moto X is announced before I seriously consider buying a new phone (and Moto, if you're reading, please give us the option of a smaller screen size without sacrificing performance!)

Working as a rep for one of the big carriers we got our floor demo set up and I'll say I really like the s7 edge. Still don't like touch wiz but the camera is nice and the screen is beautiful. Fits okay in the hand too. Always on screen makes losing moto display not so bad.

Still will wait to see what moto is offering this year after being fairly unimpressed last year.

Yea I don't think Moto will ever match Samsung or LG in terms of camera. That is one of Samsung's money makers and they will do everything they can to stay on top. Apparently the 2015 Moto X has a decent camera, but nothing close to the Samsung, LG, and new Nexus shooters.
