Motorola repair

Wondering if anyone has paid Motorola to fix your phone in the past, and what their resolution was.. Do they generally repair the phone, or do they just replace it? I broke the motherboard battery connector, and sent it in for repair ($125).. At this point of the Moto X 2014's place in history, I would think Moto wouldn't bother spending too much time trying to repair a phone, but just send a refurbished one instead.

I have the 2015 Moto Pure Edition, not the 2014 Moto X. Mine was recently sent for repair; granted it was warranty repair, not something I paid for.

I'lll be getting the device back this Friday, so I'll let you know if I get my repaired device back or a refurbished unit.

Update: Moto sent me a refurbished unit that they never removed original owner's Google account from before doing FDR. It's a paperweight to me, so I have to send it back and wait again.
