Google services (without the play) is always at the top of my battery usage list. I haven't found a way to reduce it.

You could try uninstalling updates for Google play services then re-update to the latest version, that might help.

First go to security/device administrators in settings and untick android device manager. Then go to apps, find Google play services and uninstall updates.

I would then reboot. Then when prompted (you'll get warnings about play services not being up to date) follow the notification and update to the latest version. The tick android decide manager in device administrators.

    That might help.

First, thank you for your answer. I allready tried it. But a found something. Amplify module for xposed (root required) can block wakelock and authorize it somethimes, but less often.

It depends, with my other phone, i'm on CM and i have exactly the same problem. I think it's because i don't have a good network at work and google play service try to synchronize.

It's because of a common bug in Android Lolipop: Mobile Radio Active
It's a drain that occurs when not connected to a Wi-Fi network, it keeps apps looking for a connecting when closed.
I got the same problems, but it doesn't drain on Wi-Fi (3-4 days standby) but on 3g / LTE it drains the battery quite fast (1,5
In Android 6.0 Marshmallow this should be fixed. Just google on "Mobile Radio Active Bug"

Check if Google keyboard had sync turned on, I did and Google services was always at the top of battery usage and I could not get beyond 4 hours of screen on time, now I'm on 4 hours and 48% battery left. It finally worked

My understanding is its a lollipop bug where mobile data drains too much battery. I find if I stay on WiFi then Google services hardly shows up but away from WiFi its always the top of the list. My hope is that itll be better with MM!

If you restrict background data on Google Services in the data screen, this issue goes away.

However, a new issue seems to crop up. Android OS will now use more power due to "mobile radio active" instead. It uses more than it would normally, but I have found its still less than what Google Services would have used before.

I tried this today and it certainly did help my drain. However, it also made inbox and Hangouts go very wonky. Had to enable it again.

Yeah it's a real problem in Lollipop. I can tell you it is fixed in the Marshmallow update. My battery is lasting beautifully on MM now.

This is off charge at 5:30 Am and its now 12:30pm. So that's pretty decent in my books, and I have had music streaming over Bluetooth since about 8am. Screen on 45 mins.
