So say I want to find my text messaging conversation with my brother. I go to the search button in messaging, type his name "Jordan" but the search results are only text conversations with other contacts where his name has been mentioned, and it can't seem to find my chat with my brother. It takes ages to scroll through all the different text conversations to find the one I want, I want to be able to bring it up like you can in Whatsapp.
    I have a Moto X Play. Thanks!

Hello Rossanalea, welcome to the forums! In the stock Messages app the search option will look for matches inside the text body and not in the contact name. If you want to find text messages for an specific contact open the contacts app, tap on the avatar/circle left to the name and you'll see the recent texts.

You could probably install a different SMS app from the play store too
