Lock screen wont light up anymore when the phone is moved

[Android Central Question]

Hi

My phone is a Moto X play android version 7.1.1 and my phone's lock screen used to light up when i nudged my phone, which I found very useful for checking the time and notifications quickly.

For some reason it stopped doing that today,and I have no idea why.

From the app store select Device help, then select fix, then select hardware tests and test the sensors.

I can only test proximity sensors or bluetooth, and the proximity sensors appear to be working if i hover my hand over the top part of the phone screen.
Now what do I do?

In your app drawer select Moto, check Display is turned on.

I'm assuming that you have tried the obvious, rebooting the phone?

Ah that was the problem, Display was turned off for some reason.
