Ok, so this might be silly to ask on my part, and I apologize in advance for the "duh!" moment, but I'm confused. Let's say you have a battery case, or 10,000 mAh battery pack, that's good for 3 charges. How does that work? Does it basically mean that you can put your phone in said case for 3 charges before the case/pack itself needs charging? How long do these last before it starts to degrade? I figure, whether I get the Moto X Pure Edition or the Nexus phablet, I can just get one of these and double the battery life. So basically, whatever capacity a phone comes with isn't such a big deal, as long as you have one on hand?

You are correct that a 10,000 mAh battery pack will charge the new Moto X roughly 3 times from 0 to 100% before the battery pack needs to be recharged.

I'm sure the degradation rate is similar to that of a phone battery and is probably dependant on how often you use and charge it. I've owned one for a few years but only use it 4 or 5 times a month.

They are good to carry around especially if you know you are going to be away from a charger for a long period of time. You can buy a good capacity charger for $50 and it will last you for years.

Thank you for the clarification. Should I decide to get the Moto X Pure Edition, I'd probably get a battery case or pack for it.

I had a Mophie Battery Pack for my Iphone 5 that worked pretty well. You could set it up to drain first, before you went into the Phone battery, or vice versa. It did add weight and bulk, but not crazy. I now have a Jackery that is about 6,000maH that is small and I also have a very short cable that I use with it. Nice feeling for a very long day or city trip or flight.
