Can the bootloader be unlocked?

Yes...
/Update 9-16-15
...but it will void your warranty.

Matt (Forums Manager)

The new (2015) Moto X Pure is not a developer edition, so unlocking the bootloader does void the warranty. Sorry about the lack of clarity on this. We've been using this answer but I was double-checking it before posting.

Will VOLTE work out of the box on Verizon?

Yes, moto support confirmed this. Also confirmed on the official moto forums https://forums.motorola.com/posts/a702ec688a

Will HD Voice work on AT&T?

HD Voice does NOT work on AT&T. Seems as AT&T is enabling this on certain (usually branded) devices. You may not see the Enhanced 4G LTE option on the phone. - Ry (link)

Will the Moto X Pure Edition include a TurboCharger?

Yes. "The new Moto X Pure include a awesome Turbo charger in the box. It is the new Turbopower 25" - Moto Support

Why are there no cases for sale on the Motorola Site?

The Moto X Pure Edition includes a clear plastic bumper in the box. - Moto X Pure Edition manual

How long is the warranty?

12 months, covers defects. https://motorola-global-portal.cust...filename/Global Limited Warranty10-3-13-1.pdf

If I purchase an extended warranty can it be transferred?

"You may transfer this Agreement to any person by sending written notice to: Service Net, P.O. Box 1411, Jeffersonville, IN 47131-1411." - ESP Terms & Conditions
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...l-Extended-Warranty-terms.html&token=_pzK5Qep

(personal note, I've also been able to transfer the warranty by talking to Moto Support)

Which carrier does Motorola use to ship the phones?

FedEx 2 day

How will I know when my phone shipped?

In the past Motorola has sometimes been bad about phone shipment notifications (i.e. not sending them until after the phones were delivered). One option you have is to go to fedex.com and set up an account and configure "Fedex delivery manager" in order to receive an email notification directly from Fedex about any and all incoming packages. You'll receive these updates in real time instead of having to wait for Motorola.

When will Motorola charge my credit card?

Because the Moto X is a 'customizable' product they can (and will) charge your credit card at the time the order is placed.

How do I cancel my order?

After you place your order you have 2 hours to change or cancel it with customer support. After that the order cannot be canceled and you will have to wait until the phone arrives to initiate a return and get a refund.

How long do I have to return my Moto X Pure Edition?

14 days from the date of delivery (30 days from date of delivery in California). You will not receive a refund until the phone is received and inspected (up to 14 days)

What size SIM card does the Moto X Pure Edition take?

Nano SIM. Swapping in a larger SIM? See this post.

How do I take a screenshot?

Hold down the power button and volume down at the same time.

How much space is available on each version?

64gb version - 53.18gb free
32gb version - 24.06gb free
16gb version - (please let me know)

does the sd car support apps on the card? if so then it would be more wiser to buy the base model.

Not really.

External storage can be corrupted more easily than on board storage. SD cards have a higher failure rate than internal storage.

Not high enough to shun SD cards, but something to be mindful of none the less.

Will the phone be able to data and voice on Verizon right away or does it need a update at some time?

The moto X 2014 as of today still doesn't have VoLTE!

Thanks for the info on the plastic bumper case being included. There aren't a ton of options for cases now, but that will change. I had already purchased a bumper case on Ebay before I saw this thread, but it was only $3, so I am not too concerned.

Please excuse this noob question, but a someone who has never NOT been locked into provider contract, I have no frame of reference. If I purchase the Moto X Pure, can I simply take the SIM card out of my current GS4 on Verizon (SCH-I545) and put it into my new Moto X without having to make any changes with Verizon, or do I have to notify Verizon of the change in device? It seems to defeat the purpose of having the option of using any provider if I have to "lock in" to some kind of new contract with Verizon, so I thought I would ask. Thanks in advance.

That is exactly what you do. Except the sim card in the GS4 is larger than the size that is needed for the Moto X.

You can purchase this on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Aerb-Cutter-S...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4662176

You take the sim card out of your GS4, use the cutter to cut it down to Nano size, then it will work in your Moto X Pure edition. If you want to put the sim back in your GS4 it will still work with an included adapter.

Alternatively you can go into a Verizon store and ask them for a nano-sim for your new Pure Edition once you receive it. Personally I would rather spend $7 and cut down a sim than drive to and wait at a Verizon store.

The Moto XPE Guide on page 4 says "Caution: Make sure you use the correct size SIM cards, don’t cut the SIM card, and don’t use adapters with your SIM cards."

Is this just a generic CYA thing or might be true for this phone? I've never cut a SIM or used these adapters, but from searching online it sounds easy/reliable if you're careful. I have an AT&T micro-SIM in my Nexus 4 but don't want to deal with them for a new nano. Thanks.

CYA. But that's not to say it's *impossible* to screw up sim cutting and hurting your phone.
