I have one on order. I use a charging doc. Will the Moto X first gen doc work with the Pure? It's the only one available at the moment.

Viewing angles drop off noticeably but I personally am okay with that. I'm not in the habit of wanting someone 85 degrees to my side to necessarily browse my screen.
Okay could you elaborate on what you mean when you say that they drop off noticeably? I often have my phone on a table and i look at it from (roughly) a 45 degree angle. Does to drop off with a slight tilt or at a more extreme angle?

I'd be very interested in opinions on overall sound quality including calls, use as a speaker phone and headphone output. Thanks!

    Hi,

Why has the price for the Moto X Style gone up in the UK?? It was predicted to be £359, but now you can pre-order the Moto X Style off the Motorola store (32 GB, no additional things/covers) for £399!! This is just too much as it contradicts all the predictions, and it isn't such a good-value-for-money phone. It also doesn't match up with the exchange rate between pounds and dollars, as the phone costs $399. If the £399 was to be accurately converted to dollars, it would cost over $600. I have emailed the Motorola support team and I am waiting for a reply.

Has anyone got any theories/ideas why this has happened. It has really ruined the idea that the phone was at an affordable price, as it now, frankly, isn't.
My guess would be cost of warranty and other consumer protections required by UK laws. I believe UK requires companies to have a two year warranty on consumer electronics. These protections are not free. Governments can pass laws to increase consumer protections, but companies don't absorb these costs, they are past along to the consumer.

At 45 degrees, the screen is absolutely still readable but I would say the brightness is dropped by well over a third.

I've been using the speakerphone for my conference calls and it's quite loud and crisp. My experience thus far says the call quality is just as superb as it was with the previous gen X's. Excellent noise cancellation for my speaking end as well.

For music, I just played a couple of tunes in the family room at max volume and went around to the kitchen to chop bacon because......bacon. It's not an open floor plan home, so the music had to fill the family room from the far end, get through the doorway and around to the kitchen. I could hear everything very clearly. If you need to fill the room with music, this thing will do it. They didn't scrimp on speaker quality IMO. I've never used the One and its vaunted Boomshaft (or whatever) speakers but the XPE is very well equipped.

It's the same price here in Sweden to. Here it costs 4990kr for the 32GB version which is slightly more then $600.

UK pricing is a strange and mysterious science, but it usually works out to be erasing the Dollar sign and replacing with a Pound sign.

I went from an S5 on Big Red to the Moto X Pure and the phone wasn't on their "certified device" list so I had to trim my sim card. Surprisingly, it work and it was the first time I ever did that.

Here are several angles. While it's a cheap bumper for sure, it gets the job done until you can find a better one. My biggest complaint would be that the buttons are recessed and a little trickier to activate. I also included a pic from the OG X of the screen in the bright sun. It doesn't do it much justice as the screen was actually much more visible in reality.

That's very troublesome. I'm on big red and ordered the Pure with the understanding that it was.

It's something that Verizon is aware of and is working on. They said that they hope to have the issue resolved by September 18th.

Using Tracfone / Net10 shouldn't be a problem. I would grab one of their multi network sim kits so you can change carriers if you have a problem.

Yeah I agree! The only two phone they told me that are on their certified list is the iphone 6 and 6+. They are always behind on things. Find a template online and trace out where you need to cut it. It should just fit in the tray.

If you already have a nano SIM then you won't have to go through any of this.
