I noticed that you get a message when headphones are plugged in about max volume. Any way to get rid of this?

Not without rooting. It's a liability/legal thing. You can send a thank you card to http://www.americanbar.org/aba.html

Yes, it is a liability thing, correct. But the liability is because Samsung, et. al. do not want to be sued when people bludgeon their hearing because they cranked their earbuds too loud for too long.

I have a Nexus 5 and I remember seeing this once or twice and then it went away. I think eventually it asks you if you want to be warned again.
