Files containing a . before the name are now accessible and not hidden on the native file manger, anyone have a solution for this?

Try another file manager? (ES File Manager)

The built in one is very limited.

I am using ES File Manager, but the hidden file is still accessible through the built in one.

If you go to settings --> storage you can now open a build in file manager.

While that certainly is a nice addition...I hardly would call that a file manager in the sense that other third party apps are considered file managers. Unless of course I am still missing something, or need to enable something??

Nope it's very simplistic. You are better off using something like ES File Manager.
