Obviously not a huge update, but I'm wondering if we're going to see this one.

I'm starting to feel the same way. Especially since we haven't received a December or January security update. I will admit that it is early for a January update since we aren't using Nexus devices but the sense of security is something I would like to have.

Agree. Security will be a big part of my choice for a new phone this year. If this years Nexus offering is good I may go with it. Love my Moto X Style but wished I had waited for the Nexus 6p. I thought the upper chin was going to be hideous but it's not bad at all.

I'd say it depends on when 6.1 is slated to come out or 6.0.2. I would guess Moto has a general time frame from Google and if it's soon then Moto is likely just saving time and expense to wrap it all in with a slightly bigger update.

The security updates need to be stepped up though. Carrier phones are getting them before we are.

My thinking is that 6.0.1 is "minor" that by the time Motorola is done with 6.0 updates for other devices on the Marshmallow list, there will be something newer than 6.0.1 for them to work on.

I got 6.0.1 on my Nexus 7 (2013) this morning and it was only 66MB

So much wrong from that "source".
