Google Now reading old texts

Has anyone ran into Google Now reading old texts instead of recent ones? The last few days when I ask it to read the last text message it reads the same 2 messages from a week ago. I have wiped the cache, maybe uninstall Chomp and reinstall?

Also the last 2 it keeps reading I have deleted them in Chomp and Messages.

Just tried it today when I was driving and it read a text from April 16th. I use Textra so I'm wondering if that's why.

Whats weird is if I'm driving and Moto assist detects I'm driving it will actually work fine, but if it hands off to Google Now it keeps reading the same text messages from April 19th. Haven't tried a reset yet. I am using Chomp as my text app.

Yes, the feature works great while driving, but other times it keeps reading the old texts. Guess I need to do a reset.

I'm having the same exact problem. Any resolution? I don't know what to try. I have Verizon messages on a Moto E and I don't use any hands free moto apps...

No resolution yet. I still haven't factory reset it yet. Putting it off for a bit. Hopefully that will fix it.

Did a factory reset, fixed the problem.
