My Moto X Pure received 6.0.1 last year.
I received the 6.0.1 update by performing these steps:
Power Off phone
Remove SIM card
Power On and connect to Wi-Fi
Check for update
Install update and allow to reboot.
Power Off phone
Put SIM card back
Power On.
I don't know where you're located but 6.0.1 has not been released for the Moto X Pure.

No, you did not... the Moto X Pure (XT1575) never got 6.0.1, it wasn't even trialed, beta'd, or soak tested. It doesn't exist.

The latest official software for the MXPE is MPHS24.49-18-16 which is Android 6.0 with a December 1, 2016, Security Patch update date, and was released in February 2017.

Some, but not all, Moto X Style (XT1572) variants got 6.0.1. Although the Chinese Style variant (XT1570) never got beyond 5.1.1.

Although I am going to give you the benefit here and say you're just mistaken, because I know you from other forums and I you clearly have a Moto X Pure Edition, so it must have been at 6.0 if it was stock.

Let me ask you this: By any chance is the MXPE you are currently using a Refurb sent to you by Lenovo?

I don't know if it is refurbished, but it was replaced almost a year after I got it.
The power button was not working.
The replacement I got looked new when I got it. It was in a retail box sealed.

Geez, I'm getting impatient now... I was doing fine waiting for the update until all the tech sites blasted that Moto was sending the update out. Now I can't wait.

This doesn't sound like a soak test.
It was/is a soak test... there was a serious problem discovered when you perform a factory reset that the setup wizard could not be completed or bypassed and with a locked bootloader you were essentially stuck with an inoperable phone. It has been pulled and sent back to development.

At least that is the current "rumor"

Motorola Soak Tests are for final software. Motorola Test Drives are for beta testing to get to final software.

Today I got a "New system update available! notice.
This version is 25.11.13 (the previous version I got was 25.11.5).
Is anyone else, outside the soak test group, getting this system update?
Am I lucky or just a guinea pig?

You are getting the soak/beta test releases... I am not in the trial group but know a couple people are, and they got this in last day or two as well.

Don't know how, but your device is in the trial/soak group release group somehow.

Did they mention any big bugs? ....'cause I'm about to install it.
Besides a couple incompatible apps, I didn't have any big issues with previous build.
I think the interface is more fluid but I didn't see any other improvements.
My battery still dies in the middle of the day. :-\

Supposedly fixes FDR/FRP issues and GPS issues... I haven't heard much more so far
