The bad news is it runs on sprint.

The good news is you can pay $10 for a decent plan.

My only hesitation would be that I don't think RW permits transfer of the phone to another person. I don't think they will activate a phone unless you buy it new it them so the phone has little to no resale value.
If you stick with the phone for the long term you'll save a ton of money, especially if you forgo data, but if you pay for the 4G data and want a new phone after a year or so the savings isn't as great.
